As a Guru Loden Chokse, Guru Padmasambhava requested all the teachings of Dzogpachenpo from Tulku Garab Dorje. 

Garab Dorje received all the tantras, statements and instructions of Dzogchen from Vajrasattva and Vajrapani in person and became the first human vidyadhara in the Dzogchen lineage. Having reached the state of complete enlightenment through the effortless Great Perfection, Garab Dorje transmitted the teachings to his retinue of exceptional beings. Manjushrimitra is regarded as his chief disciple. Padmasambhava is also known to have received the transmission of the Dzogchen tantras directly from Garab Dorje's wisdom form.

rangnyi kechik dren dzok su

Perfect in the instant of recollection,

orgyen men gyi lama ni

I am the Oḍḍiyāna Buddha of Medicine—

ting sal men chok lhungzé nam

Bright blue, holding supreme medicine and alms-bowl,

nyen shyu sang gö pö ber sol

And wearing hat, undergarment, gown and cloak—

jinlab ziji denpar sal

Resplendent with blessings and majestic presence.

om ah hung benza guru pema sambhawa bhekandzé radza samudgaté soha

oṃ āḥ hūṃ vajra guru padmasambhava bhaiṣajyarājasamudgate svāhā

Recite this mantra.

gewa di yi nyurdu dak

Through this merit, may I swiftly accomplish the realization

orgyen men la drub gyur né

Of Orgyen, Buddha of Medicine,

drowa chik kyang malüpa

And may I bring each and every single living being

dé yi sa la göpar shok

To that perfect state as well.

Please bless the wishes to succeed naturally.

Prayer to Guru Rinpoche to Clear Away Obstacles on the Path

Precious Guru, embodiment of all buddhas of the three times;

Great bliss, lord of all accomplishments;

Wrathful power, who dispels all hindrances and subdues demons:

Pray bestow your blessings.

Du sum sang gy guru rin po chhe

Ngo drub kun dag de wa chhen pi zhab

Bar chh kn sel d dl drag po tsl

Sol wa deb so jin gyi lab tu sl

Please remove all outer, inner, and secret obstacles and

grant your blessings to accomplish my wishes spontaneously.

Chhyi nang sang wi bar chh zhi wa dang

Sam pa lhn gyi drub par jin gyi lob

Then recite the following;

When, due to the obstacles of the elements earth, water, fire, and wind, this borrowed illusory body meets the time to perish, by requesting without the two-pointed mind of doubt to Urgyen (Padmasambhava) and the goddesses of the four elements, there is no doubt that the four elements will be naturally pacified.

I request Urgyen Pdma Chung Na (Urgyen rising from the lotus).

OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM (Recite many times.)

Also, reciting OM MANI PADME HUM with tong-len practice for one hour each day can stop the dangers of the earth element.
